The DoD central epidemiological resource and a global health surveillance proponent for the U.S. Armed Forces provide timely, relevant, actionable, and comprehensive health surveillance information. The mission is to promote, maintain, and enhance the health of military and military-associated populations.
Location: Washintong DC Metro
Provides public health subject matter expertise for DoD developers of syndromic surveillance tools. Proficient in current version of epidemiologic surveillance software (i.e. SAS and R, Microsoft Office Suite) for analysis. Identifies and evaluates biosurveillance technologies and data sources and guides their appropriate implementation within agency while serving as a resource for other DoD organizations. Supports coordination of biosurveillance efforts with DoD and interagency partners.
Master’s degree in PH or related biosurveillance discipline, such as emergency management and minimum of 2 years PH experience.
