The mission is to promote, maintain, and enhance the health of military and military-associated populations.

Leads MSMR staff in planning, designing, analyzing and reporting of disease and injury trends within the DoD. Responsible for the quality and timeliness of the MSMR publication. Writes and edits medical and scientific papers. Provides consultative support in epidemiology, biostatistics and public health to other government personnel. Provides professional mentoring to medical and graduate students, physicians-in training, and other health professionals.
MD, DO in Preventive Medicine (PM) or Occupational Medicine (OM) and; MPH or MS Epidemiology and; prior military service in order to adequately prioritize what are the priority medical conditions and issues of relevance to the MHS and the US military at-large.
