Science Advisor

The DoD central epidemiological resource and a global health surveillance proponent for the U.S. Armed Forces provide timely, relevant, actionable, and comprehensive health surveillance information. The mission is to promote, maintain, and enhance the health of military and military-associated populations.

Responsabilities

Serves as SME on infectious disease testing, clinical laboratory testing, lab quality, biological safety and regulatory requirements and public health research practices. Maintaining awareness of DoD and non-DoD laboratory capabilities and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) cleared assays for infectious disease of military relevance and emerging threats of concern. Represents DoD and with other federal agencies leading to establishment of fruitful collaborations and partnerships, leveraging and building appropriate relationships for the purpose of biosurveillance program oversight and functionality.

Qualifications

PhD in Epidemiology, Microbiology, Parasitology, and other similar related subjects, or MD, DO, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Doctor of Public Health (DrPH), or related degree and minimum 5 years of experience in a laboratory or research setting. This position will require a Secret clearance.
