IT Specialist – Programmer

The DoD central epidemiological resource and a global health surveillance proponent for the U.S. Armed Forces provide timely, relevant, actionable, and comprehensive health surveillance information. The mission is to promote, maintain, and enhance the health of military and military-associated populations.

Location: Washintong DC Metro

Responsabilities

  1. Responsible for data collection dealing directly with the end user/customer.
  2. Collecting new requirements for development to meet customer’s needs.
  3. Monitor and assist in carrying out server maintenance functions.
  4. Assist, select and apply the most effective delivery formats.
  5. Work with IT to ensure that Web‐ based content is accessible to all users.
  6. Providing guidance in determining the most appropriate methods for delivering information via the Internet.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  1. Appropriate degree and/or certification in computer science/web design with 2-4 years’ experience in IT environment.
  2. Ability to support web related activities and develop web applications and web portals.
  3. Experience with Interactive Media, Graphic Illustration, Motion Graphics, Web Design, Print Design HTML, Java Script, C#, Microsoft.net 4.5 or higher, and CSS.
  4. Experience with T-SQL and SQL Server 2008r2 or higher.
  5. Experience with Windows Server 2008r2 or higher.
  6. Experience with Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.5 or higher.
  7. CompTIA Security+ certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Expert knowledge of languages and practices needed to develop web pages and to convert user‐ developed content into workable Web pages, create easily navigable Web pages and basic scripts or code, evaluate code and repair errors, and builds or support Web‐ enabled database applications.
  2. Ability to create Internet applications that enhance user‐ developed content and meet business and technical requirements and deliver e-commerce and e-Government products and services to internal and external audiences. Provide Internet services that optimize customer experiences and ensure Internet services comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and other related requirements.
  3. Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite CS6, Visual Studio 2014, and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or higher.
